The Suisun City Recreation, Parks, and Marina Department is happy to offer senior programs at the Joseph Nelson Community Center. Join us for social activities, crafts, fitness, and more.

Success with Diabetes Program

Touro University will be hosting a free 6-week program on how to live a healthier life with diabetes, starting on Wednesday, 6/5 from 10am-12pm at the Joseph Nelson Community Center.  For any questions on the program, call 707-638-5970, or email tuc.mobec@touro.edu.  Click here(PDF, 917KB) for the program flier.

Lawler Falls Picnic Trip 

Come join the RPM Department and enjoy food and quality time outdoors on Monday 6/10 from 10am-12pm!  This trip is free, but pre-registration is required so staff are able to provide lunch based on registration numbers.  Please meet at the Joseph Nelson Center at 9:30am if you are in need of transportation to the park, or you can meet at Lawler Falls Park.  Click here(PDF, 312KB) for the program flier and contact information.

Senior Summer BBQ 

Kick off summer on Thurs, 6/27 with some good food!  The Senior Summer Barbecue will be at the Joseph Nelson Center from 12pm-2pm.  Reservations are required by 6/24.  For more info, contact Justeen Singley, Recreation Coordinator, at jsingley@suisun.com or at 707-421-7200.  Click here(PDF, 705KB) for the program flier.

Senior Lounge

Drink coffee, read a book, or chat with friends at the lounge every weekday from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Lunch (Ages 60+)

Meals on Wheels Solano County serves lunch at the Joseph Nelson Community Center every weekday at 11:30am. Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Please call Meals on Wheels to make your reservation at 707-425-0638 x2. There is a suggested contribution of $4 per meal for guests over 60 and $7 per meal for guests under 60. If you are unable to contribute the full amount, please consider contributing what you can. No one will be denied a meal due to inability to pay. Every donation helps Meals on Wheels continue to serve the community.
