Suisun City, CA – Suisun City has launched an informational webpage for residents and stakeholders to stay informed on its expansion exploration process. The suisun.com/exploringexpansion page includes background information, links to meetings and resources, frequently asked questions and official City news released on the topic. The webpage is designed to provide transparent, up to date information on the City’s process to explore expansion through annexation.
“The beginning phase of this process will include ongoing communication with community stakeholders,” said City Manager Bret Prebula. “As a city, we want to ensure the public is informed about where we are in the process and how they can participate along the way. This webpage will be the hub for Suisun City expansion exploration information.”
Mayor Alma Hernandez shared, “We understand that the community has questions about this process, and we want to provide as much clarity as possible. It is important for our residents and stakeholders to know where they can find accurate information as the City explores expansion opportunities.”

Suisun City is taking steps to strengthen its economy and secure a bright future for all residents. Over the past decade, Suisun City has faced budget challenges and has worked proactively to address them through the adoption of a new sales tax, staffing stabilization and enhanced economic development efforts.
At its January 21 City Council Meeting, the City Council directed the City Manager to explore annexation opportunities, a new avenue in the efforts to protect Suisun City’s economic future. This process will involve discussions with Solano County officials, Travis Air Force Base, community stakeholders and regional partners. Any proposed plans for annexation will go to the City Council for public discussion and would require approval from the Solano County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).
